2003 Hummer H2 (10” LCD in Dash, Install Date 04-2003)
Here is GM’s new mini monster. The Hummer H2 definitely makes a statement whenever it appears. Sound in Motion continued this bigger is better theme into the interior by integrating a 10.4” Accele LCD Screen into the factory radiolocation.

The dash had to be physically rearranged to accommodate the new screen and radio. Besides that there is quite a challenge when removing the factory radio from one of these Vehicles. The Class two Data-Bus system runs through it and will cause loss of many safety functions, OnStar communication and various chimes.

The original dash housed a din and a half radio, climate control, OnStar and power outlets. Custom brackets were made to mount the Eclipse radio and screen to the factory dash mounts. The power outlet was relocated to the left and the OnStar was moved to the overhead console.

Here is the redesigned dash now home to an Accele 10.4” LCD screen. An Alpine DVD Navigation system makes sure you never get lost.

An Alpine TV tuner and a DVD player were installed as well.

So what happened to the OnStar you ask? We found a new home for it in the overhead console. The wires were extended and the plastic was carefully cut and some new mounting brackets were made.
