In-Car Computers

PC’s in cars are nothing new, but getting them to work properly is. The advantages are endless. Our car pc of choice is the “Drivesoft” system. Their power supply and switched powered USB’s and drives seem to work almost flawlessly. The software is well thought out and easy to use. You can now get rid of your radio and use a computer for all your media storage. They are available with XM, FM, TV tuners and high-speed internet access, as well as over 100GB of storage and are controlled by touch-screen, mouse or remote.

 

For those who want it all. A complete PC in the car takes care of all your media storage, internet access, gaming, e-mails and anything else you need right at your fingertips.

2006 Audi A3 In this car, we removed the factory radio and replaced it with a 7” VGA touch-screen that controls all the important computer functions flawlessly. It also has an IR remote for volume, track, mode, mute, enter etc...

2006 Audi A3 For more in-depth functions, like writing e-mails or renaming folders, a USB keyboard plugs right into a hub in the glove box. You can also see the DVD, CD, MP3 drive here for playing or uploading movies, music or software.

2002 GMC Yukon The dash of this Yukon was modified to make room for a 10” Accele LCD screen. The computer here is accessed via wireless keyboard.

2002 GMC Yukon A Pentium mini PC with windows XP and wireless internet access was used in this set-up. Some sophisticated video switchers allow the computer to be operated on any of the six screens inside the vehicle.

2002 Toyota Corolla A Lilliput 7” VGA touch-screen was molded into the original radio location. An aftermarket Alpine head unit was relocated further down in the dash where an empty pocket used to be.

Drivesoft CPU The Drivesoft CPU comes complete with a proper power supply, Switched USB ports, FM and TV tuner and even a direct plug in for XM tuner. XP based Drivesoft software is loaded as well with a 100 GB hard drive.

2006 Toyota Avalon Even a factory screen can be utilized to display the necessary peripherals. All other controls require a wireless keyboard and mouse. This system was added to the factory audio system
